Turkish trade mission in Djibouti

Staying in Djibouti from 19 to 21 September, a delegation of Turkish Employers' organization is currently in the country to explore investment opportunities and partnerships.

Arrived in Djibouti in the afternoon of September 19 for a visit to explore investment opportunities and partnerships with their Djiboutian counterparts, the delegation of the Turkish employers' organization has met with the Minister of Economy and Finance, Ilyas Dawaleh Moussa, and the Minister for Trade, SMEs, Handicrafts, Tourism and formalization, Abdi Elmi Achkir.

With 8 members, the Turkish delegation met with the health minister, Ali Yacoub, before taking a tour of the ports and free zones in Djibouti and Doraleh; visit during which it met with the president of the Ports and Free Zones Authority, Aboubaker Omar Hadi.

The working day continued with a meeting with the President of the Djibouti Chamber of Commerce (CCC), Said Omar Moussa, accompanied by businessmen of the country.

Meeting at which CCC President presented Djibouti’s advantages and what the advantages the country offers to foreign investments, especially by its geo-strategic position as well as a privileged gateway to COMESA, a regional market of 416 million consumers.

The Turkish delegation ended the day with a meeting with employers and entrepreneurial organizations, including the National Confederation of Djibouti Employers, Djibouti's Business Federation and the Association of SMEs / SMIs. The meeting took place at the Ministry of Commerce.

According to a predetermined program, it is expected that the Turkish trade mission meet with the Executive Director of the National Investment Promotion Agency (ANPI), Mahdi Darar Obsieh, the Minister of Education, Adawa Hassan Ali, and the Minister for International Cooperation and Acting Foreign Minister, Ahmed Ali Silay.
