Meeting of the Organizing Committee

In preparations for the departure of Djibouti pigrims leaving for the pilgrimage of 2011, the Minister of Muslim Affairs and Waqf property, Dr. Hamoud Abdi Souldan, chaired a final briefing and consultation with the organizing and coordination committee of the pilgrimage on September 20th 2011.

More than three million followers visit Mecca in Saudi Arabia. There are twenty seven members of the organizing and coordination committee for the pilgrimage this year. Religious leaders, doctors, judges, journalists ... they come from all departments.
This week they were all summoned to the table by the Minister of Muslim Affairs and Waqf property, Dr. Hamoud Abdi Souldan, for an important meeting.
The meeting also allowed the members of the organizing committee to get to know each other before travelling to Saudi Arabia where they have to prepare the reception of pilgrims.
In his statement to the committee organizing the pilgrimage, the Minister of Muslim Affairs and Waqf property, Dr. Hamoud Abdi said, this is an important mission of this national committee for the coordination and facilitation of the pilgrimage to the Djibouti faithful who will go this year to Mecca to perform their religious duty. The task is not easy.
The 27 members of the National Organizing Committee of the pilgrimage are required to ensure the smooth running of pilgrimage for some 1,100 Djibouti pilgrims on the list of departure for Jeddah and Mecca. Note that this year; the Djibouti faithful will visit Jeddah first.
